A vegan cheese producer in Bahrain has been awarded $32,000 in funding

Jomon for Food, a vegan cheese producer in Bahrain, has received $32,000 in funding.

During the third episode of Beban Season 2, the investment arm of Hope Fund (Hope Ventures), and two venture capitalists invested in the company.

Maryam Almansoori founded the Bahrain-based facility, which produces alternative dairy products such as vegan cheese, labneh, yogurt, and butter.

Hope Ventures General Manager Fajer Al Pachachi emphasized the importance of the founder and team in deciding to invest. She stated that Maryam Almansoori has the skills, drive, determination, and commitment needed to grow the business. Al Pachachi looks forward to seeing Jomon grow with the mentorship, guidance, and expertise provided by the strategic private co-investors.

Roaya Saleh, who was thrilled to be on Beban, said the show exposed her to many promising local opportunities, especially in the food and beverage sector. She is excited to co-invest in Jomon and has faith in their potential to put Bahrain on the map.

Mr. Al Amin added his thoughts, saying: “My participation in Beban season 2 comes after being part of the show’s first season and benefiting from the ease of access to promising local opportunities in various sectors, especially F&B, in which I specialise. I am pleased to be investing alongside Hope Ventures in Jomon for Food, and I look forward to contributing with my experience in the sector to empower the business to expand internationally.”

Ms. Almansoori expressed pride in the investment, stating that it demonstrates the validity of her product and the trust investors have in local businesses. She plans to use investors' knowledge of the food and beverage sector to help the company grow regionally and internationally.
