Animal Rights & Vegan support centre
In November 2020, the Middle East Vegan Society collaborated with Lebanese Vegans to inaugurate a groundbreaking Vegan Support and Animal Rights center in Beirut, Lebanon. This unique facility encompasses a vegan cafe offering complimentary daily meals, ongoing food distribution programs, an extensive free library housing literature on veganism and plant-based diets, and a dedicated area for free dietitian consultations. The primary objective of this center is to enhance the accessibility of veganism throughout Lebanon, making it more attainable and inclusive.

First plant based hospital
In March 2021, after extensive preparation spanning several years, Hayek Hospital, located in Lebanon, made a historic announcement. The hospital declared its decision to cease the provision of animal products to its patients and visitors, marking a groundbreaking shift as the world's first hospital exclusively serving plant-based meals and products. This transition, motivated by ethical, environmental, health, and pandemic prevention considerations, was the culmination of thorough research and meticulous planning. The Middle East Vegan Society played a significant collaborative role, working closely with Lebanese Vegans, in assisting Hayek Hospital in undertaking this transformative step.

corporate success
Since 2017, the Middle East Vegan Society has actively championed the inclusion of more vegan options on restaurant menus, striving to enhance the accessibility of veganism. This initiative yielded significant success, notably in Lebanon, where the burgeoning interest in veganism became evident a few years ago. As a result, prominent American diners and various other restaurants in the country incorporated vegan items into their menus. Building upon this success, the Middle East Vegan Society is now dedicated to replicating this achievement in other countries across the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa).
