Emirates Palace introduces dedicated vegan Rooms

Emirates Palace, which is rebranding as a Mandarin Oriental property, has announced the launch of a series of vegan rooms. This is part of its commitment to sustainability and meeting the changing preferences of its guests. The six units, located in the West Wing of the hotel, offer guests a completely animal-free experience.

The rooms have been designed to cater to the needs of guests who are vegan or who prefer a plant-based lifestyle. For instance, the rooms feature wooden floors instead of wool-based carpets, faux leather furniture, feather-free duvets, and minibars that are stocked with almond and oat milk options, as well as a choice of kombuchas.

Even the cleaning products used in these rooms are vegan, and the key cards are made of wood. The hotel also uses peace lilies, which are known to naturally improve air quality, to avoid the need for artificial fresheners.

The hotel has also expanded its vegan menu, which features natural produce from its vegetable garden, to ensure there are plant-based options in all of its restaurants. Even guests visiting the hotel's spa can choose from a range of vegan treatments and products.

According to Michael Koth, the general manager of Emirates Palace, the hotel's goal was to create a room experience that is just as luxurious and high-quality as its standard rooms, while catering to the needs and preferences of its guests who prefer a vegan lifestyle.

The cost of creating vegan rooms is higher than that of standard rooms, as the hotel needs to work with specialist suppliers and use limited quantities of materials. However, the hotel is committed to making these rooms available at the same price as equivalent standard rooms.

Emirates Palace's commitment to veganism is intended to inspire other hospitality providers to adopt similar practices. The hotel aims to demonstrate that veganism is not just a small niche but a mainstream lifestyle choice that should receive more attention from the hospitality industry.
