Egyptian pharmacist and entrepreneur Omar Zaghloul is using AI-driven technologies to transform the protein sector in Africa. As co-founder and CEO of the biotech business AIProtein, Zaghloul spearheads the creation of protein powders that are both vegan and ecologically responsible by utilizing advanced artificial intelligence techniques.

AIProtein, which was founded in 2023 and specializes in vegan and gluten-free goods, is at the forefront of sustainable protein production. Their innovative strategy combines artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, utilizing organic resources found locally to provide sustainable aquaculture and scalable protein purification techniques.

Zaghloul's innovative work was made possible by his academic career. After graduating from the German University of Cairo in 2017 with a degree in pharmaceutical sciences, he went on to Zewail City of Science and Technology in 2021 to get a degree in biomedical sciences, drug design, and development.

Zaghloul's 2022 return to Zewail City was a turning point. He acted as a consultant for innovation management, igniting programs that supported entrepreneurship and leading projects that advanced technology.
