BLACK SHEEP FOODS SPECIALIZES IN LAMB SUBSTITUTES, WHICH MAY BE POPULAR IN THE Middle East!

Black Sheep Foods is San Francisco's newest lamb alternative company. Prince Khaled's KBW Ventures is one of the companies that contributed to the Black Sheep Foods latest Series A funding round, which raised US$12.3 million led by plant-based venture veterans Unovis – early investor in Oatly and Beyond Meat – alongside Bessemer Ventures Partners, AgFunder, bringing total investment to $18.05MM since the company’s founding in 2019.

With this Series A funding, Black Sheep Foods will be able to bring their plant-based lamb to restaurants across the Middle east and introduce consumers to delicious, full-fidelity meat flavors while removing animals from the equation.

The Vegan Prince hopes to help the brand expand into the Middle East. He said that "As someone who grew up with this taste profile, I couldn't believe the authentic mouthfeel and flavor of Black Sheep Foods' lamb." Prince Khaled said in a written statement “With taste being such an influential factor in customer adoption, Black Sheep Foods will easily dominate the plant-based meat market. Furthermore, game meats are still a relatively untapped market. With the company's technology, Black Sheep will be able to explore a wide range of taste profiles, allowing for amplified flavor, excellent texture, and a strong nutritional profile."

"While texture has been the focus of meat innovation, flavor is a white space," said Sunny Kumar, CEO, and co-founder of Black Sheep Foods. Our plant-based lamb has more depth of flavor, richness, and appetizing aromatics than other meats, period. We're in the business of providing consumers with the most delicious meat variety possible, using plants rather than animals."
